MC293771 – Text predictions help Microsoft 365 users write more efficiently by using intelligent technology to suggest text during composition. This feature is already available for Outlook on the web (MC225214, October 2020), Outlook for iOS in US and Canada (MC229558, December 2020), Outlook for Android in US and Canada (MC, February 2021) and Outlook for Windows (MC229381, December 2020).
Note: Microsoft is now extending support for text predictions (English only) for Outlook on iOS and Android for customers worldwide.
When this will happen
Microsoft will begin rolling this out in late November 2021 and expect it to be complete by late January 2022.
How this will affect your organization
When this update rolls out, users will see text predictions in Outlook for Android or Outlook for iOS when writing an email message. They’ll be able to swipe right to accept it or keep typing to ignore. Text predictions are on by default; users can disable them in Account Settings in Outlook for Android or Outlook for iOS.
Disabling this feature in Outlook for Android or Outlook for iOS will not affect text predictions in any other client.
What you need to do to prepare
Manage this option for Outlook mobile users with an app configuration setting from your mobile application management solution such as Microsoft Intune. For more information, see Deploying Outlook for iOS and Android app configuration settings.
You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
